NYS Homeschool Compliance — Quick Reference
New York's framework is the strictest of the five states we support — so the templates in Section 3 are written for NYS first, and the state-adaptations panel below tells you what to swap for TX, FL, CA, and VA.

- Hours: K–6: 900 hours/year minimum (this curriculum delivers ~990+ hours over 36 weeks).
- Subjects: Required: Arithmetic, Reading, Spelling, Writing, English Language, Geography, U.S. History, Science, Health, Music, Visual Arts, PE. Patriotism & citizenship, plus periodic substance-abuse/traffic/fire-safety units.
- Assessment: Grade 5 falls in standardized-testing rotation in some districts (4 & 8 are mandatory). Approved tests: Iowa, Stanford, CAT, TerraNova, etc., or a written evaluation by an approved evaluator.
